As a community of savvy consumers and responsible businesses, we can effect major change. And that’s what D2E is all about. Our sponsors, exhibitors and advisory board are committed to exploring how we can live well for ourselves and our planet.
D2E is a culmination of the talents and passion of two local female entrepreneurs, Betty Fulton of Commonwealth Promotion, Inc. and Lorelei Grazier of Grazier Design Works. Through their common interest in exploring ways to make our world a better place to live, Betty and Lorelei combined their business acumen to help make a difference.
Betty Fulton
Managing Producer & Founding Partner
Betty Fulton is an event producer, entrepreneur and marketing strategist with broad expertise in
promotion, media relations, sponsorship development and operations management. Betty drew upon her extensive experience with the Don Law Company (now Live Nation New England) when she started Commonwealth Promotion in 1985; she has since developed it into one of the top promotion companies in New England.
Shortly after starting Commonwealth Promotion, Betty launched College Fest, an entertainment-focused “lifestyle” marketing festival targeting Boston’s college audience. Entertainment marketing was in its early stages, and College Fest quickly became an essential branding event for corporations seeking to reach the college market. Commonwealth Promotion developed expertise in creating sponsorship opportunities for major national companies, and they came to recognize the power of College Fest to reach this dynamic demographic. Mastercard, AT&T, Ford Motor Company, Toyota and Best Buy, among others were just a few of the companies who regarded College Fest as an essential branding event for this audience each year. Betty sold College Fest in 2003.
In addition to producing annual wholly-owned properties such as the Boston International Antiquarian Book Fair and the Boston Print Fair, Betty also has worked with a host of New England-based clients providing event production, sponsorship development and publicity and promotional services. These include Comcast, Genzyme, the Massachusetts Democratic Party, Faneuil Hall Marketplace and Pioneer Investments.
As for green credentials, Betty managed the Tour de Sol Green Transportation Festival for the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association in 2001, a road rally that featured a showcase of renewable energy green transportation vehicles making its way through six New England cities.
Betty has a life-long interest in music, plays classical and jazz piano, and is studying jazz arranging and composition. She and her husband Svetozar share a passion for photography, gourmet cooking (of course with locally sourced ingredients where possible), and enjoy their walks around Jamaica Pond and the Arnold Arboretum in all seasons.
Lorelei Grazier
Brand Strategist & Founding Partner
Founder of Grazier Design Works, Lorelei Grazier is a multidisciplinary designer who brings a blend of skill, talent, and good business sense to her work. She enjoys crafting fresh solutions to marketing challenges, synthesizing business and design needs to propel effective communication strategy.
Lorelei launched her career in Budapest as art director for global design firm Saatchi & Saatchi. There, she earned her stripes working on multimillion-dollar accounts like Johnson & Johnson and Samsung. Lorelei was the first American student at the Hungarian Academy of Arts & Crafts, where she concentrated her focus on graphic design. She then earned a master’s degree from the renowned Basel School of Design in Switzerland.
Back in the States, Lorelei worked at New York City design firm Chermayeff & Geismar as an exhibition and graphic designer. One of her clients was the National D-Day Museum. Over the course of this project, she designed materials, managed the installation process, and worked with a team of designers and historians to create the concept and design for the new Pacific phase of the museum.
Lorelei signed on as a visiting professor at American University in Washington, DC, which sparked a passion for teaching that continues today. Since 2001, Lorelei has been an adjunct professor at Northeastern University, The Art Institute of Boston and Simmons College. She is an active lecturer for various area design programs, providing critical feedback and mentoring to students.
In her spare time, Lorelei enjoys experimental photography, snowboarding and mountain biking with her husband Ted and their dog, Lucy.
